Shakyamuni Buddha, the historical Buddha and founder of the Buddhist path, is the most widely revered figure among practitioners. This statue has been carefully crafted to support and enrich one’s practice, with close attention given to proportion, detail, and overall harmony.
The figure is rendered in copper alloy with partial 24k gold gilding, complemented by a refined two-toned antique finish that brings depth and warmth to the surface. The contrast between the finishes gently highlights the form and the finely carved details of the robe and lotus base, allowing the workmanship to be appreciated without distraction.
Shakyamuni Buddha is depicted in a calm and grounded posture, his right hand resting in the earth-touching gesture while the left holds the alms bowl in meditation. The face has been beautifully painted in gold, with soft, balanced features that convey serenity and presence, helping to create a quiet sense of connection during practice.
Both contemplative and timeless, this statue is well suited for meditation spaces and shrines, offering a dignified and enduring representation of Shakyamuni Buddha, shaped by the skilled hands of Newar artisans in Patan, Nepal.
