Shakyamuni Buddha’s image is deeply meaningful to those who follow his teachings. Making offerings to his image—whether through visualization or a physical statue—is considered a virtuous act that benefits all beings.
This statue has been carefully crafted with great attention to detail. It follows a traditional Newa/Indian style, where the Buddha is depicted wearing a simple, flowing robe. He sits gracefully on a double lotus throne. Every part of this statue showcases fine craftsmanship. The borders of his robes feature delicate leaf motifs, and soft engravings of leaves flow across the fabric. The entire statue has been thickly gilded in 24k gold, with an antique finish that gives it a timeless presence. His face, also painted in 24k gold, has been worked with smooth lines and refined detailing, bringing out a serene and meditative expression.
From the first carving to the final touches, every stage of this statue’s creation has been done with care and devotion. The result is a piece that not only captures attention but also radiates an energy that inspires deep reverence and dedication in practice.
