This statue of Dorje Lekpa (Vajra Sadhu), the fierce guardian of the Vajrayana teachings, is masterfully crafted in copper alloy and finished in an antique two-toned patina. The variation in tone — from deep bronze to soft golden hues — enhances the statue’s sculptural depth and brings out the fine detailing of the carving without implying symbolic coloration.

Dorje Lekpa is depicted in dynamic posture, riding a snow lion that symbolizes fearlessness and mastery over obstacles. His right hand brandishes a vajra, the indestructible weapon of awakened awareness, while his left hand holds a scorpion scepter, representing the subjugation of negative forces. His expression is fierce yet purposeful, embodying enlightened wrath that acts solely for the protection of the Dharma and the benefit of beings.

Adorned in intricately detailed armor and flowing robes, each surface is engraved with meticulous precision. The textures of the garments, the lion’s mane, and the flames behind him have been carefully worked to convey both motion and presence. The aureole of fire, rendered in vivid orange and red tones, surrounds him — symbolizing the purifying power of wisdom that consumes all obscurations.

The antique two-tone finish gives the piece a timeless quality, with soft highlights accentuating the craftsmanship and depth of form. Handcrafted in Patan, Nepal, this statue exemplifies the lineage of Newar artistry, where devotion and technical mastery unite to bring sacred forms to life.

For Dharma practitioners, Dorje Lekpa serves as a powerful support for protection practices, Vajra Guru sadhanas, and the cultivation of steadfast commitment to the path of awakening.
