Guru Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, is revered as the great Vajrayana master who established Buddhism in Tibet during the 8th century. Honored as the Second Buddha within the Nyingma tradition, he is celebrated for subduing obstacles, concealing sacred treasure teachings (terma), and establishing the Vajrayana lineage that continues to flourish today.
This statue is meticulously handcrafted in copper and finished with 24K mercury gold gilding, beautifully complemented by a rich two-toned antique finish of deep black and warm brown hues. The intricate brocade patterns on the robes, finely sculpted ornaments, lotus throne, and khatvanga staff have all been executed with exceptional precision by our master artisans. The fully gilded and delicately hand-painted face radiates Guru Rinpoche’s enlightened presence, creating a striking contrast against the darker antique tones and bringing the statue vividly to life.
