Longchenpa, one of the great Dzogchen masters in the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, was born around 14th C.E. Jigmi Lingpa, regarded as an important figure in the Nyingma lineage, was a 17th CE master who received the Longchen nginthik teachings from numerous visions of Longchenpa. These statues of the two great masters were made after a special order from the Khenpo residing in a monastery in Pharping. He brought us the clay figures made in Bhutan. We cast those figures and continued with our traditional way of statue making. Adopting a minimalistic and simple form of engravings, these statues have been crafted to bring out the radiance of these two great masters. The statues have been gilded partly with 24k gold and a combination of black and brownish color finishes. With a well-painted gold face along with detailing, the practitioners and the viewers can evoke a strong connection with the statues.
