Karmapas are the leaders of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. The 16th Karmapa, Rangzung Rigpe Dorje, was a great master of the 20th century demonstrating intuitive wisdom, joy, and compassion. This statue of him has been crafted with the simplicity that has been showcased through the simple engraving designs that we see on the borders of his robe. 24k gold has been entirely gilded to the statue. The face has been excellently carved and painted to radiate his compassion and peace towards the practitioner.
