This 9-inch Amitayus statue is masterfully crafted from copper and entirely gilded with 24k gold, with subtle silver plating applied to select areas such as his crown for added refinement.
Amitayus, the Buddha of Infinite Life, is depicted in full lotus posture upon a double lotus base, his hands resting in the meditation mudra and holding a kalasha filled with the nectar of immortality — the essence that dispels obstacles, heals, and sustains life for the benefit of all beings.
The antique gold finish softens the gilding into a gentle matte glow, allowing a calm and balanced presence during practice. The engravings are executed with remarkable precision: deep, well-defined borders along the robe complement the delicate leaf motifs that flow across the garment. The face is painted with pure 24k gold, while the eyes and lips are rendered with smooth, refined detail, capturing Amitayus’ serene and compassionate expression.
For Dharma practitioners, this statue serves as a meaningful support for long-life prayers, Amitayus sadhana, and the accumulation of merit dedicated to the well-being of all. Crafted in Patan, Nepal, it reflects the timeless artistry and devotion of Newar craftsmanship — a lineage of sacred skill passed down through generations.
